Forms of Self-immolation in Iran: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Context: Self-immolation is one of the most violent methods suicide and considered a psychosocial problem. Objectives: The purpose this study was to investigate forms self-immolation in Iran using systematic review meta-analysis method. Data Sources: In study, seven papers published from 1999 January 2020 were selected keywords such as SID, Google Scholar, PubMed, Web Science (ISI), Scopus, Elsevier databases. Study Selection: selection done by two independent researchers. results studies pooled Freeman-Tukey Double Arcsine Transformation heterogeneity among checked Q-test I2 index. Extraction: extracted data extraction form. Results: total sample size 9,470. mortality rate subjects estimated at 64% (95% CI: 0.56 - 0.73). important means oil [89% 82% 96%). Winter had highest numbers [29% 22% 37%). Meta-regression showed no significant correlation between year study. Conclusions: To reduce self-immolation, easy access must be restricted families, high-risk people should have psychology consultation.
